BE A TOURIST IN YOUR OWN CITY

You may not feel ready to start travelling again, and that's fine! You'll be surprised what you can experience on your doorstep. Here's some top tips on how to be a tourist in your own city:

GRAB SOME FLYERS

If you head to local hotel foyers or train stations, you'll most likely find some flyers about local tourist attractions (they sometimes have a cheeky discount inside too). Pick a couple of activities that you wouldn't usually do, make a plan and head out!

ASK A FRIEND TO BE OUR TOUR GUIDE

For a different perspective on your city, ask a friend to take you around and show you the sights. They may share something new about somewhere you thought you knew well, or you may even make some new discoveries!

CONSIDER TRAVEL

You may be used to seeing your city by car or public transport - try exploring in a different way. Hop on a tourist bus, hire a scooter or even just get some comfortable shoes on and walk from A-B. You'll be surprised what you will see just making this one change.

FOOD

You may be tempted to stop off at your favourite place to eat or grab something mundane (McDonalds anyone?!), but try the most touristy eatery you can think of. A greasy spoon, or tacky themed restaurant, it may not be the best meal but it will definitely be an experience.

DO SOMETHING ONLY YOUR CITY OFFERS

Uber boat in London, Cathedral climb in Liverpool or Zip-line in Snowdonia - every city will have something unique you can experience. Give it a go!

EMBRACE THE HISTORY

There will always be more to learn about where you are, the best place to find this information out is in a Museum! So head down and educate yourself!
